Scottish stockbroker Leven Brown, aka "El Loco" is planning to establish another feat by becoming the first person to windsurf across the Atlantic, and then turn back to do it again using a more difficult route.

Brown was nicknamed El Loco last year, after taking time off from his job as a stockbroker, to row solo from Spain to Tobago for charity.

This time, his plan is to windsurf across the Atlantic using a 20-ft surfboard on a journey that he estimates will take him five months as good winds carry him from Canary Island to Antigua. Brown plans to do this stunt without any support vessel.

Under his plan, he will get only a few hours of sleep each day, in a small hallowed-out depression in the board. For nourishment, he will be eating dehydrated food, he said.

For safety measure, the specially-made board will be fitted with an electronic anti-shark mechanism

But the most difficult task is the return trip as the stockbrokers plans to surf back the other way, taking a more dangerous route through rougher seas.

He told the Metro, "If the weather is wrong I could be in trouble, but thankfully I have good experience of sailing downwind in these weather conditions. I know what it is like to be in a boat that becomes a submarine very quickly."
