A man described by friends as a consummate "Good Samaritan" was killed and decapitated Thursday by a homeless man who he took in off the streets.

Deputies in North Fort Myers, Fla. responded to a call at the home of Charles Buddy Rogers on Thursday, and came upon a brutal discovery. They found Roger's head near the front door of his apartment and his body sitting in a wheelchair inside the home.

Robert Charles Cope, 55, who was staying with Rogers, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is being held in Lee County Jail without bond.

Friends told deputies and media that Rogers was an artist and an avid gardener who would do anything for anyone in need. They theorize that is why Cope was staying in his home.

Deputies still have no motive for why Cope may have killed Rogers.
