A pigeon that landed on a high-tension electricity wire resulted in a short-circuit that stopped Denmark's train network from functioning. The bird is presumed to have been fried on the overhead cables ensuing the outage in the train's main line after.

A north eastern Indian state, Mizoram, set to make an environment-friendly power station that will run on bamboo. The state, it is claimed, possibly will be the first in the world to use bamboo for producing power. The project coordinator, Mr. Tlumtea told United News of India, "Our unique power station will use bamboo to generate electricity. This project will not only be cost-effective but also high eco-friendly. "

The World Malayali (Keralite) Council plans to organize a mass wedding of 25 couples on the occasion of its Fifth global Convention. The wedding will be held at the Ernakulam Town Hall on August 2. Brides and grooms have been selected from across the districts with the help of women's Family Welfare organization units. The group also features physically challenged persons.

Myspace. com on Monday stated that their popular social-networking site suffered a pair of extended outages over the weekend because of power problems at a key data center in the Los Angeles area. Myspace co-founder and president Tom Anderson told Myspace users in a message, "MySpace has been screwy since Saturday because of failures in both the main power supply and the backup generators. "

In an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record, more than 2,000 people in China's city of Changsha will take part in a singing marathon this weekend. The participants plan on singing continuously for 116 hours from Sunday to Friday to smash the current 100-hour record.
