Thousands of angry bees attack and kill a South African woman after her vehicle hits an electricity substation containing their hive. Paul Nel, spokesman for Netcare 911, a private paramedic and ambulance service says, "The car crashed into an electrical substation in Johannesburg which housed a bee hive. It was 10-years old and had in excess of a million bees and they just went wild. The people managed to stumble out of the car, but they were just overcome by bees. "

Fire officials in Victoria state say Frank Clewer had built up at least 30,000 volts of static electricity in his jacket simply by walking around the city of Warrnambool. He received his first shock when he walked into a local business. Clewer says, "It sounded almost like a firecracker or something like that. "

A car thief in a residential district of Sofia ran into a roadside electricity pole in the midst of a car chase with local officials. When the police officers stepped out of their car to arrest the man, he took their vehicle at gunpoint. Police said officers opened fire at the fleeing suspect and believe he might have been wounded.
