The Elephant race held in Nepal on Tuesday to give a lot of enjoyment to the tourists, who are traveling to Nepal to witness one of the country's proudest wildlife attractions.
A total of 11 Nepalese teams were joined by nine international competitors for the showdown that pits the best of the elephant racing elite against each other, the Sahara Samay, a news portal, reported on the day.
It was the elephant from Thailand named Jung Bahadur that pipped opponents to the post in a tightly contested the annual race. The elephant from Nepal stood second.
This was Nepal's fourth annual elephant race - an event that was initially pioneered to raise the country's tourism profile.
