Viewers in Scotland have been angered by a BBC TV program that depicted the Edinburgh council killing pigeons, The Scotsman newspaper reported Tuesday. Animal groups received thousands of emails and phone calls from viewers who were angered by the show.

The head of Oregon's Liquor Control Commission has resigned -- after being charged with drunken driving. Teresa Kaiser was stopped Saturday night in Portland. Police say she had a blood-alcohol level of point-16 percent. That's twice the legal limit.

"Big Brother" is watching. According to the "Palm Beach Post" newspaper, a local police agency in South Florida was most likely the authority who first mistook the e-mail sent by a member of a Lake Worth area group, The Truth Project, to the Pentagon as a possible terrorist suspect. The anti-terror program of the Pentagon checked out the group and the source of the e-mail, and has since apologized to the group. Specifics of the e-mail letter were not revealed to the media.

Baylor University in Waco, Texas, which bills itself as the world's largest Baptist college, has threatened to discipline female students if they pose for Playboy magazine, which is trying to recruit models from the college. Playboy photographers came to Baylor's hometown seeking models for a photo spread on women of the Big 12 college athletic conference, of which the college is a member.
