A park in Manchester has opened up a playground designed strictly for pensioners.
At a cost of $30,000, he Dam Head Residents' Association (DHRA) put up the Older People's Play Area in Blackley, equipped with facilities designed to strengthen hips, tone legs and train the upper body.
"It was "great fun," said Joan Fitzgerald, 76, chair of the DHRA of the six pieces of work out equipment which is placed just adjacent to the under-fives play area.
"I'd recommend anyone to come and have a go, after all you're never too old to play," she said.
"It's all about health and fitness. A lot of older people don't want to go to gyms."
