Three escaped inmates were recaptured by the Australian police after they flagged down an unmarked police car.

The News.com.au reports the inmates, ages 19, 20 and 27 allegedly escaped from the Warakirri Correction Center located at Ivanho, New South Wales, Australia.

The trio managed to travel more than 125 miles on foot when they tried to get a ride to a passing vehicle at Buronga.

It was too late when the escapees realized they flagged down an unmarked police car and were immediately collared.

They were taken to Dareton Police Station and additional charges of escaping from lawful custody were filed.
