Health officials in Hong Kong have come up with a plan to help the environment and cut crematorium congestion at the public mortuary. The plan is the introduction of eco-friendly coffins, which they say burn faster than regular coffins and produce less toxic gases. Cremating the dead is more common and affordable practice than burials in land-scarce Hong Kong.

The sighting of the endangered long-billed murrelet has attracted some 2,000 birdwatchers in Dawlish, Devon in England. The once sleepy seaside town is now a temporary home to avid birdwatchers after the rare bird was reportedly spotted, said the Daily Mail newspaper.

A study by a British think tank has given UK youth the dubious distinction of being the most badly behaved teenagers in all of Europe. The institute looked at the results of a number of studies of adolescents conducted in recent years.
