Bedbugs Becoming A Pesky Problem for the Big Apple

In a growing problem in New York City, scores of bedbugs are turning up in hotels, hospitals, movie theaters and more, causing an increased number of calls to exterminators and discomfort for those getting bitten by them. Experts say the problem is not just limited to New York either. The bloodsucking bugs are spreading to other states and counties at an alarming rate. The Big Apple just happens to be the hotspot of activity currently.

A Norwegian cancer expert made up fake patients for an article about the treatment of oral cancer published in a leading medical journal. Trine Lind, of the Norwegian Radium Hospital, says, "The material was fabricated. We are shocked. This is the worst thing that could happen in a research institution like ours. "

"Sexomnia" Defense Gets Man Acquittal on Sexual Assault Charges

Officials in Ontario plan to review the case of a man who was accused of sexual assault, but was acquitted after it found that he suffers from "sexomnia" and was asleep when the incident occurred, Reuters reported. Jan Luedecke, 33, was acquitted of the charges last Tuesday. A sleep expert testified on Luedecke's behalf, confirming the man's claims that he has "sexomnia", a disease which causes involuntary sexual behavior during sleep.

American Wins Bartending Competition

To highlight a year's hard work in training bartenders all over the world, InBev brought together a selection of international finalists for the annual Stella Artois World Draught Master Competition, a contest that rewards the world's best pourer of Belgian beers. The highly-anticipated competition took place on October 28th, 2005 at the Vaudeville Theater in Brussels, Belgium, capital of the beer loving community. The Stella Artois World Draught Master title has this year been awarded to Jessica Waltz, a 27-year-old bartender at Ten Stone in Philadelphia. Michel Denayer - Belgium (1st runner-up) and Irwin Pang from Singapore rounded out the top 3 (2nd runner-up).
