In a bid to make three endangered golden monkeys from China feel at home, the authorities at Los Angeles Zoo have paid $4,500 to an expert in the ancient Chinese art of feng shui. The Zoo will spend a total of $7. 4 million for the golden monkeys, which are brought on loan from China and are scheduled to appear at the zoo later this year. It is apparently the first use of this ancient Chinese art on animals. Fen Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. It is environmental science that studies how the surrounding environments would affect the human life. It mainly focuses on the study of earth's magnetic field and geo-structure in relation to effects to human life.

A hungry polar bear had reportedly cornered a group of Russians at an Arctic weather station for two days. The polar bear had been stranded by melted ice and rampaged through the house. The meteorologists and two gamekeepers "hid in the attic, where they sat two days. They waited until they got permission to shoot the animal, which was given by the environmental ministry in Moscow," according to sources.

What makes a sandwich a sandwich? Could one define the nature of a burrito as simply a Mexican sandwich? A Worchester judge presiding over a legal dispute between Panera Bread Co. and Qdoba Mexican Grill answered these tough culinary questions last week. Panera, a bakery and sandwich making food chain, filed suit against the owners of the White City Shopping Mall for allowing a burrito making business to open shop in the same facility. Panera and the mall had signed a lease agreement in 2001 barring rental space from any other sandwich shop. According to Panera, burritos are sandwiches.
