A huge explosion caused by a combination of 36 cockroach bombs and a lit oven pilot light obliterated a Thai restaurant in Perth, Australia, injuring three, two critically. The blast caused more than a half million dollars in damage, fire officials claim. The restauran'ts owner and two members of his staff had closed set off the insect-control bombs throughout the building to wipe out what is described as a "nasty cockroach infestation. " Fire officials said the pressure wave from the blast was felt hundreds of meters away and lifted the roof off the building, collapsed walls and blew out windows. "This (cockroach bomb) is a good product, but this incident shows if you don't read the manufacturer's instructions, there can be very serious consequences. " states fire department spokesperson John McMillan No word on the status of the cockroaches, they likely survived the explosion.
