A driver serves to avoid a cat in the road and ends up striking a teenager on a skateboard. The teen was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. Kevin Rivers, 17, of Jacksonville, was reportedly standing by the side of the road with his skateboard Saturday night when he was hit.

Florida businesses could soon face criminal charges if they try to stop employees from bringing guns to work in their cars. The National Rifle Association and two state lawmakers have filed bills to allow workers to have guns at work, as long as the weapons remain locked in their vehicles.

Thirty people involved in a South Florida marriage fraud rings have been indicted by Immigration officials. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Officials have reportedly found more than 100 people using the fake marriages in order to legally immigrate into the United States.

A prank pulled last year by two former nursing home employees could possibly land them in jail. Lisa Kilburn, 27, and Kim Congleton, 30, both former certified nursing assistants at Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center, stand accused of administering laxatives to patients who did not need them, including older and medically-sensitive people, many of which suffered pain and rectal bleeding.
