A $10,000 reward was announced by a California family for the safe return of their small dog.

Louie, the tiny 5-month old Yorkshire terrier puppy was allegedly stolen at a supermarket parking lot, from Pauline Jolly's car.

"He's like my child," the AP quoted Jolly.

Jolly explained that she and her children, 6-year old Tatiana and 10-year old Tristan, went inside a Target store in Irvine, California to shop for her daughter's birthday. She later returned to find Louie gone.

"I came out and noticed that my door was unlocked," the UPI quoted Jolly. "I looked around for my dog and my dog was gone."

Jolly continued to say that other items were stolen from the car, such as a pair of pants for her daughter, a soccer shin guard for her son, and her bra - items that she was planning on returning.

"They stole the oddest things," she said.

According to Lt. Rich Handfield, due to the day's stormy weather, "we have ruled out someone was angry that the dog was left alone in the car."

Jolly was reportedly strained, saying "I don't care who did it or what happened. We just want to have the dog back."
