The daring mountain lion that entered an Idledale couple's home and killed their dog early Sunday morning was trapped and killed Tuesday. Reports say the lion entered the home through French doors that were left open. Two dogs slept in the bedroom with Mack and Jacquie Anderson, and Jackquie awoke upon hearing a scuffling to see a dark shape she knew was an animal that was not her own.

An Israeli ultra-Orthodox Jewish couple is facing possible charges of negligence after leaving behind their four-year-old daughter at the Ben-Gurion airport in Israel on Sunday to take a vacation in Paris, France. Airport investigators said the couple, whose names were being withheld, were late for their flight to Paris on Sunday and rushed to the gate with their five children. Because of their mad dash to the gate, the parents forgot about their four-year-old daughter and learned she was missing after being told about it by flight attendants in mid-air.

A female Eastern box turtle called Turtle No. 72 has led Washington police to a well-tended marijuana garden in Rock Creek Park. The turtle is one of 135 wired animals with a small radio transmitter on its shell to provide scientists data on turtle movements. The six-inch turtle wanders through 50 acres near the District-Maryland boundary.

Hundreds of fans and flight enthusiasts here at AirVenture 2008 were wowed on Tuesday as a New Zealand family debuted the Martin Jetpack, dubbed the "ultimate personal flying machine. "Inventor Glenn Martin said the device, which can fly a 280-pound passenger for 30 minutes, is "the world's first practical jetpack. " After spending 27 years developing the jetpack, the 48-year-old Glenn has involved his wife Vanessa and his two sons. Harrison, 16, test-flew the jetpack Tuesday at the Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) AirVenture 2008.

A Romanian immigrant in Abbotsford, British Columbia is the center of media attention after she gave birth to her 18th children in 23 years - a feat being tagged as the province's most productive mother in 20 years. Canadian Press reported that 44-year-old Livia Ionce and her husband Alexandru, 51, welcomed their 18th children, Abigail, last Tuesday.
