Cats don't lose their ability to 'run, jump, climb and hunt' if they are desexed (or 'castrate'). They just lose the desire to mate because they no longer have those hormones in their body. My cat is desexed and that hasn't stopped him from hunting anything that moves and dragging it home to finalise the kill for me to see.
I know that sounds horrible of my cat, dragging home animals and killing them, but just proves that, ball-less as he is, he has definately not lost his hunting skills.
