A man was accused of poisoning his children's soup on three different occasions in an attempt to get money from Campbell Soup Company.

William Allen Cunningham, 40 had made phone calls to the New Jersey-based company complaining that the soup made his children ill.

His 3-year-old son and 18-month-old daughter were taken to the hospital three times in January after eating the soup. The third time the soup was tainted with Prozac and Amitriptyline--both used to treat depression. His daughter had to be flown by helicopter to the hospital to be treated after consuming the mixture.

Cunningham was charged with tampering with consumer products with reckless disregard for the risk that another person would be placed in danger or bodily injury.

For calling to complain to the company he was also charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, and communicating false statements that a consumer product had been tamped with.

Officials said there was no evidence that the soup was contaminated when purchased. The two children are now under the care of their mother. There have been no reports on their condition.
