A father and son of Fort Myers, FL are accused of loading envelopes with stolen stamps worth more than $200,000.

Charges have been leveled against 51-year-old Joseph Robert Baker and his son 21-year-old Matthew Robert Baker for allegedly siphoning off stamps from June to November 2004.

Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney Douglas Malloy says the father-son duo stole stamps from post offices in Florida, Ohio, and Kentucky. Investigators believe the suspects used the money to support their drug habits.

Surveillance videos caught them in act. Malloy says, "They would go to the self-service areas of post offices, where there are no attendants. They'd grab an express mail package, stuff as many stamps as they could in it and then rush out."
