Authorities report a passenger with air rage punched a hole in the interior pane of an airplane window on an America West flight from Las Vegas to Florida. According to an FBI affidavit, Ryan J. Marchione, 24, shattered the inner plastic shield covering the glass window and disconnected its frame 90 minutes into the flight from Las Vegas to Tampa.

The FBI, known for its hard nosed and clean cut crime-fighting image, considers relaxing its previous hiring policy for former drug users. Some senior FBI managers have been deeply frustrated that applicants, who acknowledged occasional marijuana use in college, had to be rejected. Even though in some cases many had performed top-secret work at other government agencies, such as the CIA or State Department.

A 27-year-old Guatemalan man is arrested after posing as an 18-year-old high school student. Josue Oswaldo Ramirez-Mejia told authorities he enrolled because he wanted to learn English and get a good education. Ramirez-Mejia was arrested in Pasco County and charged with uttering a forged instrument. He is being held on $5,000 bail.
