Three Pakistani Teens Buried Alive For Choosing Husbands

Pakistan's Senate has called for government action against men who shot and buried alive five tribal women in July because three of them wanted to choose their husbands. Through a resolution passed Monday, the senate also condemned and sought justice for two women who were executed in similar fashion alongside the victims in the Nasirabad district of Balochistan province for pleading for the girls' lives.

According to the Guardian Unlimited, nine-year-old Lin Miaoke, who sang "Ode to the Motherland" merely lip-synched. Seven-year old Yang Peiyi, who was considered not photogenic enough for international stardom, was the real voice behind the song.

Washington Police Discover Marijuana Plants In Park With The Help Of A Wired Turtle

A female Eastern box turtle called Turtle No. 72 has led Washington police to a well-tended marijuana garden in Rock Creek Park. The turtle is one of 135 wired animals with a small radio transmitter on its shell to provide scientists data on turtle movements. The six-inch turtle wanders through 50 acres near the District-Maryland boundary.

Noisy German Birthday Celebrants Mistake Cops For Male Strippers

German police responding to a complaint about a noisy party after midnight knocked on the door only to have the noisy guests burst into applause after opening the door and seeing the officers there. Applauding the police were the birthday girl, who had just turned 30, and her female guests who, it turned out, had all mistakenly thought the police officers were a surprise birthday gift - male strippers in costume.
