A man filming a documentary about an enduring Elvis myth is offering $3 million to anyone who finds the King alive.

Adam Muskiewicz has set up a website, www.elviswanted.com, as a way of getting the public involved in the documentary.

The site says, "The hoaxing of Elvis Presley's death is the biggest myth in the history of pop culture. Does it have any merit? What are the facts behind it?"

The film explores rumors that Elvis did not actually die on August 16, 1977, but went into hiding instead.

Muskiewicz, 28, says he's not sure what he believes. He says fans are suspicious of the death because of inconsistencies in events around Elvis' funeral.

He tells Reuters, "You don't have to be an expert to see there were procedural questions: why was the funeral so fast? Things were sealed and people went quiet."

The documentary is scheduled to be released next year on the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death.
