A New York town is reportedly considering banning the use of Silly String anywhere within 1,500 feet of a public celebration. The proposal to cut the use of the popular party product was made based on concerns from the local fire department, which claimed that the aerosol string sprayed from the canister has been causing damage to fire equipments' paint and weather stripping.

An Oregon town mayor has been kicked out from her post after posing on a fire truck in her black bra and underwear. According to city officials, Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist narrowly lost in Monday's recall election, 142-139, in a town with 500 registered voters. The recall is effective Tuesday.

A man got locked inside an HSBC bank branch after he entered the still closed establishment, surmising from its unlocked door that it was already open. Jay Whitmarsh, 47, said that when he entered the bank and saw it was empty, he merely thought that the staff had stepped out, and would return in a few minutes. Then suddenly heheard the door slam shut, and the latch lock. He tried opening the door, but had no luck getting free.

52-year-old man, identified only as Park, was caught for attempting to cook his landlady's pet Chihuahua. The incident happened in a boarding house in Jongno in the capital Seoul. The man reportedly took the pet Chihuahua inside his room in the boarding house which his 69-year-old landlady was in the bathroom. He killed the dog and attempted to cook it, unfortunately his clothes caught fire and emitted smoke.

A murder suspect on Monday evening managed to grab the firearm of his arresting officer, point the gun at the officer's head and pull the trigger. When the weapon failed to fire, authorities say alleged murderer Alberto de Asis Jr. proceeded to beat officer Fernando Carlos of the Pasay City Police Department with the pistol. The incident, which took place at a police station in Manila, was quickly ended after Carlos' partner, Police Officer Jonathan Moreno arrived and subdued de Asis.
