The first lady is angry the toy company that makes the popular Beanie Babies toys is selling dolls with the same names as the Obama girls.
Ty Inc. is marketing dolls with the names "Sweet Sasha" and "Marvelous Malia," and Michelle Obama is not happy about it. She released a statement saying, "We feel it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes."
Interestingly, the toy company is denying the dolls are named after the Obama daughters. A Ty spokeswoman said Sasha and Malia are "beautiful names," and the dolls are not meant to represent the first daughters.
The 12-inch dolls are part of the company's "TyGirlz Collection."
