101-Year-Old Man Becomes American Citizen

A 101-year old man from Phoenix, Arizona realized a lifelong dream Saturday when he was awarded legal American citizenship. The first centenarian to become an American citizenship in the state, Vicente Osorio Rios achieved his legal citizen status at a local court, in a ceremony witnessed by family members that altogether spanned three generations.

Trying to duplicate a scene from the movie, "A Christmas Story," two fourth-grade boys ended up with their tongues stuck to a frozen flagpole. According to reports, Gavin Dempsey and James Alexander were on flag duty at Jackson Elementary School Friday morning, when the pair decided to test whether their tongues really would really stick to the freezing metal as what they've seen in the movie.

Pirate Flag Ordered Taken Down From Garden After Council Declares Crackdown on Pirates

The Hampshire Council has ordered a 47-year old woman to remove a pirate flag from her garden following a crackdown on pirates. Carol Clark, who hails from Whitchurch, said she shocked when told to have her skull and crossbones flag from her garden by local authorities citing breaches on advertising rules.

New York Deck Trusses Are Certified Safe By Task Force

The state Bridge Task Force released a report on Wednesday asserting that New York's 49 deck trusses are safe for traveling. The report also confirmed that the bridge inspection procedures that are in place at the moment are adequate. The mass inspection was ordered by New York governor Eliot Spitzer following the collapse of a Minneapolis deck truss bridge in August.
