A member of Qatar's royal family delayed a British Airways Milan-London flight Thursday because he refused to allow the airline to seat his three female relatives next to men they did not know. Italian newspapers reported Friday that the Sheikh, identified as Bader Bin Khalifa al-Thani, was eventually asked to leave the plane after he approached the captain to look into the seating matter prior to the plane's take off.

We arrived in the town of Sta. Ana in Cagayan Valley, the northernmost tip town in the Philippines at 3 a. m. in the morning. The first thing we noticed was the eerie sound of the place, or better yet, the lack of any sound of life. There were no lamp post and all we saw was darkness. The only light available was emanating from the vehicle we were using. We drove for another half an hour and still all we saw was darkness, we didn't see any houses or any other living soul. For someone who has lived in the city all his life, the environment in Sta. Ana was a strange one to me. I came from the capital where the city never sleeps and that has been the case even in some provinces I have visited, this is the only town I have been to where all I heard was the sound of silence even at that hour of the morning.

Flights going in and coming out of Milan's Linate airport were suspended for three hours Sunday so staff and volunteers could catch hares and rabbits, which have proliferated to such a degree that they've caused problems with takeoffs, landings and radar systems. According to AP, Nicoletta Angioni, spokeswoman for SEA, the company that operates Milan's airports, said, "There are always hares at the airport. The problem is that lately there were too many, and they cause problems with the radar and sensors that monitor the airport. "

A Dallas-bound American Airlines flight from Tokyo was forced to make an emergency landing in Honolulu after its pilots heard some noise in the cockpit; which later turned out to be a squirrel. Airline spokesman John Hotard told The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, the pilot made the decision to land midway as he feared that the animal could have chewed through wiring or caused other problems.

A British company will be opening a mile-high club later this year that will give couples willing to shell out hundreds of dollars the chance to fly 5,580 feet in the air on a private "love jet. " With the service, couples who have always wanted to be a part of the mile-high club can do so without the fear of facing the large fines (and embarrassment) they'd have to deal with if they attempted to join the club on a commercial flight. Couples, who are promised discretion, will have a choice of three kinds of trips: a 30-minute "Quickie," an hour-long flight, or a "VIP" flight that lasts 90 minutes. Prices range from about $500 to $1,500.
