A Boynton Beach, Fla. woman's decision to buy a home security camera that she could watch from her computer at work paid off this week.

After being robbed of many valuable processions in October, Jeanne Thomas decided to spend $250 on a Wilife monitoring system so that she could watch by logging on from her work computer, or any other location. The Palm Beach Post reports that at first, she saw nothing more than her dogs jumping on the couch.

That changed last week. Deciding to log on from her job at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Thomas was shocked to see two men going through her home.

The burglars entered her house through a "doggy door." Her golden retriever was hiding in another room in the house. As Thomas, 53, watched the men go through items in the house - and eat food out of her refrigerator - she called 911.

She stayed on the phone with the 911 operator, giving a detail-by-detail account about what was happening inside her home.

Eighteen officers from the Boynton Beach Police Department arrived within minutes and surrounded the house.

Police arrested Curtis Williams, 20, and Steven Morales, 19, as they tried to flee the house, according to the Post. They told police that two other men were in another house down the street. Those men, including Thomas' neighbor, 20-year-old Jonathan Cruz, were also arrested.

Thomas told the Palm Beach Post that she knew Cruz since he was 8 years old, and that she remembered helping him with Easter egg hunts.

Thomas' husband initially told his wife that he thought buying the camera was a foolish idea, and that she would never catch anyone breaking into their house, CNN reported.
