Flowers in a front yard can add to an aesthetic sense of a house, but may also land the owner in court. A man in a Buffalo suburb was summoned last week, citing "sight obstruction" by the towering sunflowers at the intersection of his driveway and sidewalk. Michael Hazen, the town's supervising code enforcement officer, said that the flowers were obstructing the view for it is "a very busy street with a lot of pedestrians on it. "

An Atlanta software company is suing a former salesman who falsely claimed his 3-year-old son had cancer, and collected benefits for months. Lancope Inc. tried to send flowers after being told Michael Ruffalo's son had died. The salesman said his son had cancer shortly after he was hired as a salesman, and was given paid leave. A judge turned down a defense request to dismiss the suit, which seeks $40,151 in salary plus unspecified punitive damages.

A Dutch woman experienced what would be a nightmare to most, when she fell into a grave, while visiting her uncle's grave in the town of Schollevaar. Monique Zuydendrop, 40, was watering the flowers near her uncle's grave when the plot collapsed, sending her right on top of the coffin below. She landed on a woman's grave that had died in September 2005.
