A cemetery in Argentina is offering die-hard fans of the popular football club Boca Juniors a chance to rest in peace amongst star football players, club executives and fellow fans. Three-thousand plots have been set aside for these football lovers in the Iraola cemetery, abut 37 miles from Buenos Aires.
The club, known by Argentineans as Club Atletico Boca Juniors, is well known for its football team. Its home base is in the neighborhood of La Boca in Buenos Aires, where it hosts its home games at the Bombonera stadium.
Some of the grass in the cemetery will come from the stadium and Boca has begun making coffins in yellow and blue, the team's colors. The gates to enter the section will bear the club's shield.
The plots cost from $500 to $900 dollars and a portion of the proceeds from their sales will go to the club.
Maria Cristina Diaz, the cemetery's manager, tells Reuters, "We want to give a good service and for this to be a first-class cemetery."
Iraola has reserved about 300 plots for star players and club executives, who will be buried there free of charge.
