The former Attorney General and Democratic nominee to be the Governor of Florida, Janet Reno, has released a music CD, titled 'Song of America.'
The 50-song collection compiles tunes from 1492 to 9/11, and spans three discs.
Now retired in Miami, Reno says she first got the idea for a compilation of American music in 1998, when she was serving in the Clinton administration.
Reno calls the collection "the good, the bad and the ugly" of American history. "To omit Dixie or the Streets of Philadelphia is to omit a part of what has made America," Reno said of two emotional tracks.
The CD includes famous tracks sung by contemporary artists including John Mellencamp, the Black Crowes and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
