A former high school student has dropped his lawsuit after he was suspended for wearing a "redneck" T-shirt.

Thomas Sypniewski Jr., 23, now five years after the incident, says it's time to move on.

The former Warren Hills Regional School District student thought the shirt was funny at the time, and objected when he was suspended, citing the district's anti-harassment policy.

A federal court agreed with Sypniewski, saying the suspension was unconstitutional.

However, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to consider whether students could be barred from taking their redneck humor to class. The justices rejected the district's appeal in 2003.
