Homer Simpson More Popular Than Amendments

According to a recent poll, most Americans know more about Homer and the Simpson clan than they do about the US Constitution's First Amendment. In a survey, only one in four people could name one of the five amendments, whereas more than half could name at least two family members of the Simpsons.

California police officer is arrested on suspicion of soliciting sexual favors from women in exchange for their freedom. Officer William Robert Taylor, a three-year officer of the El Cajon Police Department, was arrested Friday, and now faces eight felony counts including bribery, sexual battery and victim intimidation.

Mother May Have Used Ant Poison To Kill Three Children

Police say a mother in western Arkansas may have used ant poison to kill her three young children. They found four cups near the poison and a letter in Spanish saying the mother could not live without their father.

Inmate Loses Weight To Escape Prison

A prisoner in Australia didn't dig, or bust his way out of prison. He made his escape by losing so much weight, he was able to squeeze though a hole he made in a brick wall. Reuters reports Robert Cole was in the Sydney jail for stealing and assault. He lost around 30-pounds so he could slip through the hole next to a window in the hospital of the maximum security prison.

High School Senior In Trouble Over Wearing Kilt To Dance

Nathan Warmack wanted to honor his Scottish heritage by wearing a Scottish kilt to his high school dance. His Principal had other ideas and told him to put on a pair of pants. The formal clothing has sparked an international debate about freedom, symbols and cultural dress. More than 1,600 people have signed an Internet petition seeking an apology for the high school senior. Scots in the United States are assembling a traditional ensemble they hope the student will wear to the prom, and his family is trying to change the school's dress-code policy. Warmack, a defensive lineman on the football team, says, "It's a kilt. It's going to turn heads, but I never believed it would have become what it is. "
