Alden Couch on Monday passed the 100 year milestone, as he celebrated his 101st birthday. But nearly a week ago, he cleared yet another signpost when he successfully passed the state driving test and got his new driving license. Elated with the freedom to drive around, couch had planned to take a drive down to the local senior center in his six year old Chevrolet Impala before heading to a party his friends had arranged for him, according to the HeraldNet.

Freedom is the most precious thing to every living being, be it humans or birds. A female vulture from a Dallas Zoo found her long awaited freedom last weekend by escaping from the zoo. The Dallas Morning News reported that zoo officials are currently searching for the bird in the Dallas region. However, officials have assured the public that the vulture is of no threat to children, people or pets.

A German prisoner sent to a high security prison for fraud, managed to set himself free by hiding in a cardboard box and posting himself to freedom. Max Friedner's exploit duplicates the feat by a Bosnian prisoner who escaped prison by wrapping himself in a parcel.

Even staying at a pricey Hilton Hotel and sleeping on luxury linens doesn't guarantee freedom from being bitten by bed bugs. Soprano Alison Trainer slept at the Phoenix Hilton Suites between Nov. 20 and Nov. 26, and said she was bitten 150 times and traumatized by the bugs who shared her bed. Trainer has sued Hilton Hotels Corp. for $6 million claiming it was a "horrific" experience that resulted in a fear of sleeping in a bed, caused her to lose weight and affected her physical appearance.

An Australian man was denied permission to board a connecting flight within Australia unless he removed the T-shirt titled "World's #1 Terrorist" with a picture of U. S. President George W. Bush. The incident occurred on December 2 when Allen Jasson, who lives in London, was stopped by security personals at an airport while he was en route to meet his family. He was at the terminal hoping to catch a connecting flight from Adelaide to Melbourne when his ordeal began.
