A menagerie numbering to 86 animals was discovered by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals officials in a Fort Ord home. The owner had been trying to find homes for the 56 fish, six cats, six rats, five frogs, four geckos, three ferrets, two lovebirds, two lizards, one guinea pig and one dog. "We took our van. We really didn't know what we were getting into," said Judi Adams, humane investigation supervisor for the SPCA of Monterey County.

The people of Kerala in India's southwest are famed for turning fish into spicy feasts fit for gods, but last week the heavens turned provider as fish rained down on the village of Manna. When the clouds broke, villagers said they saw small, pencil-thin live fish falling from the sky.

It doesn't sound like your typical three-course meal at your favorite restaurant, but an Australian man claims that he had survived living in Australia's outback by feasting on frogs and lizards. Ricky Megee, 35, of Brisbane, was stuck in the Outback with no place to go after his car broke down.
