Well, it was fun while it lasted for ambitious hunters hoping to fly to an exotic location, nab that monster buck, and fly back home with their trophy antlers. One might think the cost would be only the price of the ticket, as well as the need to tell your hunting story to a few curious onlookers.

The truth is, the antlers need a ticket almost as pricy as the riders themselves - $75 dollar per ride - and once June 10th rolls around, that price is going up to $100 on Frontier Airlines. This is a special rule, applicable only to antlers... because, let's face it, everyone was tired of antlers riding for free.

While not as heavy as a monster suitcase, or as loud as a crying toddler, antlers are quite bulky for their size and don't neatly fit into the overhead bin.

Frontier is a small airline based out of Denver. It is recently implementing a $25 charge on second carry-on bags. The majority of smaller airlines, including AirTran, JetBlue and Virgin, all charge carry-on fees for a second bag... and while antlers are not technically known for their ability to hold personal items, this extra fee may explain that cost.

Several other fees will become part of the Frontier experience. Pets are no longer free to ride with passengers, and unaccompanied children will now cost $50 for each leg of a flight.
