Thirty-nine-year-old Debbie Bird claims she is allergic to modern living and says mobile phones, microwaves and cars are banned from her house. Bird said she is sensitive to electromagnetic fields (emf) or "smog" created by computers, microwave ovens, mobile phones and some cars, and that she develops skin rashes and her eyelids swell to three times their normal size if she gets exposed to them.

A Michigan couple expecting a delivery of furniture parts were stunned when they opened the parcels. The bubble-wrapped items in the two packages turned out to be parts of human bodies, instead of pieces to their table. Franck and Ludivine Larmande got the shock of their life when they discovered a liver and part of human head in the packages that were actually meant to have furniture parts in them.

Apparently not everyone appreciates the surprise of seeing their homes fully refurbished and redecorated with someone else's creative eye rather than their own. A German man was distraught to come home to his apartment after a weekend getaway to find his fridge replaced, walls repainted, windows cleaned, and new furniture installed.

A wooden dining table which experts have authenticated to have been made of wood dating back to the time of cavemen, is up for sale in London, England for over $13,000. The table comes with a certificate of authenticity that it had been made from a 30,000-year-old wood from a Kauri tree. The wood has been carbon-dated to determine its age, it was said.

Dutch cabinet maker Mario Phippona's latest design of erotic furniture are on display at a top German art gallery, Amadeus Art in Berlin. The designs offer a wide range of wooden cupboards, wardrobes and tables inspired by the female anatomy. One of the items on display is a fruit bowl called "TittyFuity," which is decorated with realistically shaped, life-size wooden breasts.
