According to prosecutors, about twenty men suspected to be drug traffickers barged into a Mexican club shortly after midnight Wednesday and threw five human heads on the dance floor, seemingly to avenge a killing.

Dressed in black, the men came into the Luz y Sombra (Light and Shade) club on the edge of Uruapan in Western Mexico, pulled five male heads out of plastic bags and dumped them on the dance floor with a note that read, "The family does not kill for money. It does not kill women or innocent people. Those who die are those who must die. Everyone should know that this is divine justice."

The men, who were carrying handguns and rifles, fired shots in the air and forced the people in the club to lie on the floor.

Local police chief Ramon Ponce told Reuters three of the victims have been identified by their relatives, who said they were not involved in crime. Two of the victims have not been identified yet and police have still have not found any of the matching bodies.

A spokesman for the local attorney general's office said two women, one of whom was decapitated and had a finger cut off, were murdered in Uruapan Sunday and thinks the killings may be revenge for the murders.

The spokesman told Reuters, "What's likely behind this are problems stemming from drug trafficking."

Uruapan became a hot-spot for drug trafficking about 10 years ago when drug gangs in nearby villages started competing for business.
