Hundreds of motorists lined up Friday at a North Carolina gas station that unknowingly sold gasoline for 35 cents a gallon.
An attendant of the Kangaroo Express station in Wilmington accidentally set the pump price of premium gasoline to 35 cents instead of $3.35 a gallon. The mistake was discovered at 6 p.m., when a long queue of cars caused a traffic jam in the area.
According to Starnewsonline.com, station employee Shane Weller said customers did not tell them the wrong price. He said employees called their district manager to change the price by 6 p.m.
Many people were able to fill their tanks and some came back to fill up their other cars until police arrived to solve the traffic jam. Customers kept coming even after the pump price was changed.
