A city in Germany in the northern state of Bremen is planning to put polling booths in pubs in an effort to encourage the public to participate in a local election.
Some officials were even suggesting putting polling booths in gas stations and shopping centers to enable more people to cast their votes.
Officials say the move is aimed at promoting higher voting turnout at a scheduled local election in the northern state of Bremen.
Christian Weber, of the Bremen Social Democratic Party said, "We want to give elections more of an event feel."
