A German thief had the quick wit to photograph himself at the scene of a crime, leaving the pictures behind for authorities to discover.
Police in the northern town of Neumuenster said the young man stole a digital camera during a break-in and snapped the pictures before leaving it behind.
In the camera, officers found photos which only the prepetrator could have taken, including pictures of himself, which authorities immediately recognized from prior offenses.
Police spokesman Soenke Hinrichs said, "The evidence was fairly compelling so he had to admit it."
