Some of the people who work in Flemington's Hunter County Courthouse say that the ghost of Bruno Hauptmann, the man who in 1935 was convicted there of kidnapping and killing the toddler son of Charles Lindbergh, is flipping on the courthouse's lights every night. They say that the strange happenings began a month ago when renovations started to make the courthouse look as it did in 1935.

A five-member team from the Rhode Island Paranormal Research group visited Mystic Seaport on Friday night to spend time on the Charles W. Morgan, a wooden whaling ship where several visitors have reported seeing ghosts. The 165-year-old craft made 37 ocean voyages in search of whales during the 60 years it was in use. About 1,000 men worked on the Morgan over those decades.

"Bigfoot" fever has gripped Malaysia in recent weeks, prompting two teams of scientists to plan treks into the rainforest in search of a huge ape. There have been several sightings in recent weeks of a tall, gorilla-like creature in the forest around the state of Johor.

Employees at the 431-year-old castle that inspired William Shakespeare's Hamlet say it is haunted. They say that when a new restaurant opened in Kronborg castle in June, strange things began happening, said staff member Jeannett Pedersen on Wednesday.

A human rights group is alleging the United States uses music by Eminem and Dr. Dre to torture detainees in a secret Afghanistan prison. New York-based Human Rights Watch quotes an Ethiopian-born detainee as saying he was kept in a pitch-black prison and forced to listen to Eminem and Dr. Dre's rap music for 20 days before the music was replaced by "horrible ghost laughter and Halloween sounds. "
