A 19-year-old German girl has filed a lawsuit because her mother gave her pets away.

The girl says her mother confiscated her two guinea pigs, a dog and a litter of puppies and took them to an animal shelter.

The girl in a bid to prevent to foreseeable demise of her pets resorted to locking the animals in her room after the recent birth of the puppies angered her mother.

After a brief trip and returning home at the end of the weekend police officials from Aachen says the girl found her beloved animals gone.

Police also report the mother, 45, signed a binding agreement with the animal shelter stipulating that the pets could not be given backed.

Police spokesman Paul Kemen, says, "The police is both investigating and mediating."
