A surrogate mother in Belgium is under investigation for allegedly selling her baby girl over the internet for $24,000 to a Dutch couple. The baby, named Donna, was born in February. The surrogate mother had agreed to bear the baby for a Belgian couple for nearly $13,000.

Lavern Dunlap was pulled over and arrested Friday after California Highway Patrol found nine people crammed inside her car, including two children in the trunk. Police pulled her over after receiving a call by someone who had seen a woman closing the trunk of her Toyota Corolla with two children inside, as the car sat parked on a shoulder.

Scientists at the National Zoo in Washington wanted to know if a newborn prehensile-tailed porcupine was a boy or a girl, since its sexual organs are internal, it was impossible to tell by looking. Because the sexual organs are internal, it can take up to six weeks before the gender can be determined using a method called anal palpation.
