An investigation has revealed that the 17 high school girls expecting babies are part of an apparent teenage "pregnancy pact. "School officials became suspicious in early October after an unusual number of girls began filing into the school clinic to find out if they were pregnant. After questioning, nearly half the expecting students, none older than 16, confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together.

A four-year-old girl accidentally shot herself in the chest with her grandmother's gun inside a Sam's Club store here Monday. The girl was rushed to a hospital for treatment and is now recovering. The child, whose name was withheld, was with her grandmother, Donna Hutto Williamson, shopping at the supermarket when the incident happened. The girl, who was sitting in a shopping cart, grabbed a small-caliber handgun from her grandmother's purse and then accidentally pulled the trigger.
