Canadian Foreign Minister's Excessive Airfare Costs Questioned

Canadian Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier continues to be hot copy. After his diplomatic faux pas in Afghanistan and questions over his former girlfriend's links with biker gang members, there is now a question over his excessive airfare. According to the Toronto Star, Bernier charged to federal funds $22,573 to cover his airfare to Laos, where he attended a two-day conference in November. The trip included a stopover in Paris. Young Professional Age Limit Stretching To 45

Although Time Magazine proclaimed the death of the term yuppie, or young urban professional, in a mock obituary in 1991, groups continue to flourish across the globe, while the age limit has grown older. Following the rise in the number of 40-somethings attending young professional gatherings some organizations have formally upped their maximum age limit to 45. The Boston Young Professional Association is one of them. Catholic School Board Trustees In Toronto Found Unworthy Of Trust In Money Matters

An audit will be conducted on the trustees of the Toronto Catholic District School Board after Ontario discovered excessive spending by the trustees. Despite the lack of legal authority, the trustees voted for themselves medical, dental and life insurance coverages, plus a yearly $8,604 car allowance. Those with excess funds from their discretionary budgets were generous to schools, charities and sports groups of their preference, which were not authorized under the country's Education Act.

Marijuana Protesters Light Up Key Cities In Canada

Thousands of marijuana activists from key Canadian cities puffed joints in public on Saturday as part of the Global Marijuana March - a worldwide protest on cannabis prohibition. Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg held similar protests which took place simultaneously in 239 major cities across the globe, according to a Cannabis News' website.

Gay Patient To Sue Hospital, Medical Team Over 'YouTube' Video

A gay patient from central Philippines is set to file formal charges against doctors and nurses of a hospital who posted over the Internet video-sharing site YouTube, a video of a medical procedure where doctors removed a perfume canister from his rectum. Worst, the video also showed the doctors and nurses, "cheering and shouting with excitement" as the canister was removed, which further ridiculed and embarrassed the victim, who remains unidentified.
