A lack of public toilets is a chronic problem in Manhattan. City officials have come up with a solution. Officials are in the midst of a proposal to install as many as 20 public pay toilets in Manhattan, as part of a larger project to replace 330 newsstands and 3,300 bus shelters.

An Indian court fines an Israeli couple 1,000 rupees after finding them guilty of obscenity for kissing during their marriage ceremony in a Hindu pilgrim town, according to Reuters. The couple decided to have a traditional Hindu marriage while visiting Pushkar town earlier this month in the temple-studded desert state of Rajasthan, The Times of India reports.

A 73-year-old woman is released Friday after being jailed for more than two weeks on charges of looting. Police arrested Marlene Maten the day after Hurricane Katrina for allegedly taking $63. 50 in goods from a looted deli. Her bail had been set at $50,000.

New Saudi King Abdullah has placed a ban on citizens kissing his or any member of the royal family's hand, declaring that only fathers and mothers deserved such reverence. King Abdullah spoke to a delegation of princes, officials and ordinary citizens, saying, "Brothers, there is something on my mind I want to tell you. Kissing hands is something alien to our values and ethics, and is refused by free and honest souls. "

Thierry Bellisha, 32, and two colleagues unloaded all of their suitcases from Hossam Abdalla's taxi at LaGuardia Airport. All except one. The co-owner of Montreal-based Crown Ring immediately looked up but it was too late - Abdalla had already sped off, unaware he still had a suitcase worth several hundred thousand dollars in the trunk of his yellow cab, according to the Canadian Press.
