Magician Competitions Attracts 2,000 Participants

An estimated 2,000 magicians from around the globe, from China to the Virgin Islands are taking part in this week's World Championship in Magic in Stockholm, Sweden. A report by the AP says tables floating shoulder-high, cards sailing through the air, rabbits pulled out of habits, a table levitating were just a few of the tricks the competitors were presenting.

A private collector on Saturday announced that it has sold a bottle of "ultra-premium" Tequila for a whopping $225,000. The sale for the beverage bottled in a gold and platinum casing, has made it the most expensive for a drink in the world. Without disclosing the name of the buyer, Tequila Ley . 925 said the bottle had been sold to a U. S. -based wine collector.

The Underwater Music Festival had a brush with the King of Rock and Roll when an Elvis impersonator was among the snorkelers and divers who swam Looe Key Reef. Neil Goldberg, of Key West, dressed in a white-caped jumpsuit and flashy gold chains, joined several hundred visitors and residents who took the plunge for the six-hour weekend radio broadcast. "We even had a Chihuahua in goggles and a swim vest on one of the dive boats," festival founder Bill Becker told the Associated Press.
