The residents of southeast Queensland were anxious when they mistook a bright, green ball of streaking light from a meteor to be a crashing plane. A police spokeswoman said the suspected meteor was seen traveling east to west in the region from Bribie Island, across the Sunshine and Gold Coasts as far inland as Warwick.

The latest dish to tempt consumers is a green and red-striped tomato created in response to increased demand for novelty produce. Creator, Marks & Spencer, says the tiger tomato is a cherry-sized fruit with magenta-colored skin and tastes slightly sweeter than standard varieties.

Residents in rural Malaysia have found a two-tailed lizard and a toad with a 15 inch tail. Farmer Ahmad Mustafa caught the unusual green lizard with a split tail near his house last month in the northern state of Penang, the New Straits Times said in a report accompanied by a photograph of the strange reptile.
