An auction to benefit a family whose home burned down ended up leaving two people injured.

Darrell Clasen, of La Motte, and John Moellers, of Bellevue, were both shot when a 10-gauge shotgun accidentally discharged at the auction on Sunday.

The Associated Press reports a 10-year-old boy put a shell in the gun that was lying on a table of items to be auctioned. Police say a man later picked up the gun and it discharged.

While Moellers was hit in the shoulder, Clasen was struck in the arm. Both men were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and later released.

Clasen said, "It was loud. I could see the smoke from the gun and then I felt it. It didn't hurt, but it was like a burning sensation."

Clasen said both he and Moellers were doing fine and no one is holding a grudge.
