A man initially arrested for indecent exposure for lying on a tree stump in the buff along a nature path in El Cerrito, California, alarmed police when he told them that he was carrying a weapon. They could not see it, as the man had no place to conceal it, or so they thought.

After hiding himself up in a cave constructed at the back of his house for eight long years, a Chinese man wanted by police on gun charges has finally surrendered. The official Xinhua news agency reports on Thursday that the man, who is 35-year-old comes from the southeastern city of Fuzhou. He had reportedly tunneled the cave out of a hill behind the bedroom of his house and put a wardrobe in front of the entrance to disguise it.

Chinese man wanted by police on gun charges has given himself up after hiding in a cave constructed at the back of his house for eight years. 35-year-old Liu Yong from the southeastern city of Fuzhou had tunneled the cave out of a hill behind the bedroom of his house and had put a wardrobe in front of the entrance as a disguise, Xinhua news agency reports.

Thai coup leader, General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, urged troops to smile to improve the image of the new military leadership. Soldiers were photographed grinning for the cameras with raised hands held in mock surrender and showing weaponry to curious citizens. News reports say that troops even gave over their berets and guns to locals. Schoolchildren were also allowed to peer into tanks.

One of Colombia's top musical instrument makers is converting shotguns and AK47 rifles into electric guitars. The guns were formerly used by fighters involved in the country's guerilla conflict. Since enforcing the peace plan, more than 30,000 illegal paramilitary fighters have turned over weapons.
