Girlfriends and wives of gang members in the city of Pereira, Columbia, are refusing to have sex with their partners in an effort to put an end to crime and violence. The women are calling it the "crossed legs" strike. They have recorded a song encouraging other women to join in and it's being played on local radio.

Two months after their daughter's ashes were stolen during a burglary in their home, an Alaska family has the ashes back. Leo and Fredi Brown's home was broken into in late June and the burglar stole guns, jewelry, and the ashes, which were in an urn in a red, velvet bag.

In a game where contestants travel all over London armed with water pistols looking to assassinate other players, police have condemned the game saying that it could spark terrorism alerts. On its website, "StreetWars" is described as a three week long, 24/7, watergun assassination tournament and it begins on Tuesday in the capital.

According to police a New Zealand bank manager who conspired with a gang to rob the bank he worked in was arrested on Friday with the three gang members including his lover. The three robbers invaded the bank, pointing guns at staff members but failed to take off with money worth more than ($40,000). Police intervened and arrested two gang members after they were tipped off by witnesses.

A Floyd County ordinance in Kentucky could strip an Appalachian family of its pet lion by Friday. The Collins family owns a more than 400 pound lion which the family considers "kitty. " To some neighbors of this family, the animal is a source of menace.
